Carlisle Food Bank
Carlisle Food Bank became operational on 12 April 2012. It was set up following concern by Churches Together in Carlisle and District in partnership with Carlisle One World Centre, Citizens Advice, Op Shops, Caldew School, Carlisle City Council and the Salvation Army.
Since its inception, the number of food parcels provided each week has steadily increased.
- Milk (UHT or powdered)
- Small Sugar (500g)
- Long Life Fruit Juice (carton)
- Packet Soup
- Pasta Sauces (tin,jar or packet)
- Sponge pudding (tinned)
- Custard (tinned or packet instant)
- Tomatoes (tinned)
- Rice Pudding (tinned)
- Small box Tea Bags/Small Instant Coffee
- Instant Mashed Potato
- Tinned Meat/Fish
- Tinned Fruit and Vegetables
- Tinned Spaghetti
- Tinned Ravioli
- Biscuits or Snack Bars
- Pot Noodles
Items are collected every week for the Food Bank.
Christmas 2014 saw extra special goodies being collected - mince pies and Christmas puds - to add a bit of festive cheer.
Harvest Festival 2015 supported the work of the Carlisle Food bank. Plenty of non-perishable goods were sent together with a cash donation.
